Amira Kotze is a Cape Malay artist based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her love for portraiture developed along side her deep curiosity of other beings. That curiosity drives her towards creating a visual voyage into and around other people’s emotional landscapes, including her own.

Amira works mainly in painting, printmaking, and more recently, comic illustration. As a restless creative, she’s dabbled in many other mediums over the years. Because of this, she is also self-taught in digital mediums like animation and 3D modeling.

Amira’s purpose for creating lies within the emotional surreality of connection, experience, and nostalgia.
