Have been feeling quite off and have taken to painting whatever I feel like again. “I have no idea what I’m doing” but in a chaotic and slightly mischievous way. Like a gerbil that thinks it’s evil but it’s actually quite normal and needs to chew on seeds. . Ive been receiving a lot of the same advice saying that I need to put myself out there again and again until something sticks. I’ve been scared and in need of a good thaw. And persistence absolutely works - no doubt about it. But I wasn’t expecting the journey and process to feel so isolating. Don’t get me wrong, I have community and support and I am so appreciative. Love you fam. But pursuing art as a career sometimes feels counterintuitive to why I create in the first place. I create to connect to myself, understand the world, and filter an overload of information. And I get to share that with others. I love sharing and I bore myself with being back and forth sharing online. Exhaust myself actually. But so it goes- here I am sharing and putting myself out here and hopefully my isolation can connect to your isolation. And hopefully my fear of being misperceived actually doesn’t matter and I’m perceived anyhow. And that’s just that. Anyway, today I’ve painted some scribbles from my brain and turned it into tv static. I love my human brain. I love the rotten parts AND the fully functioning parts. The rot will regenerate eventually- we’re E V O L V I N G✨

Got another workshop for y’all! . I will be teaching basics (very very basic) for portraiture, color blocking, and very basic color theory. Bring a picture on your phone or a blown up printout. Yes. That’s right. I’m 32 years old now and as often as it doesn’t feel like it- I am one year closer to being exactly where I’ve wished to be. It’s been a pretty difficult year, personally and professionally, and I’ve felt pretty lost tbh. I don’t recommend being 31. But 32 is my bestie’s mom’s lucky number and I will trust in that. I started my age year in Maine visiting my partner and very close friend so the energy has been very positive. Acadia Natl Park reminded me that the ocean, and a well-paid seal near the shore on Sand beach, was willing to cure my female hysteria. And just like in my dreams, I need to be reminded that even though I can’t swim — I will be fine. My fear of the ocean comes from the fear of the unknown… which is life. So it will be fine and I’m excited to start some new adventures and shut down old habits. I’ve been posting on Patreon more frequently because it takes a lot of pressure of social media off of me so if you’re curious- go there, most of it is free. I would love to share more but I can only be on instagram for so long before I have to go back to the sea. But just wanted to let y’all know I’m alive.

"Onolatry" 18" x 24" acrylic on canvas "Preoccupation with or devotion to something foolish. Worship of the ass or donkey." My work explores themes of discomfort, introspection, and identity. "Onolatry" draws from my experiences of worshiping "man" and reflects societal obsession with the idolization of "man". I've tied in somewhat obvious religious symbology as a way to connect with the average viewer and mixed in surrealism to express my emotional landscape (a term I made up - which is a visual representation of my emotional reality). I've always believed that fine art should be accessible to anyone that wants to view it - there's no right or wrong way to interpret this piece. There's my understanding and theirs your understanding.. and they are both valid. So, please share your thoughts, if you feel inclined to!

I put all my eggs in a basket a few months ago, hoping to teach internationally, and unfortunately it did not work out. Needless to say, I will be applying to more opportunities in the future. But in the meantime, I will be freelancing, teaching more workshops, and hopefully having local art shows. . Thank you to those who have been supporting my art and supporting me mentally & emotionally. It means the world and it has helped me feel grounded as I do the scary things 🩷
